Eligibility Criteria for studying in China
Unlike the countries that are offering MBBS at affordable costs and accept Indian medical aspirants with 50% marks in class 12th, most universities in China have done their acceptable 12th percentage capping to a minimum of 70%. This means a student looking to get a seat in reasonably good ranked university on the global scale must score at least 70% in 12th standard to be eligible to apply in China. However, this does not mean that a student with low scores than 70% should lose hope of getting a medical seat in China. There are a few universities in China that do accept Indian medical aspirants with some low scores but above 50% in 12th. Qualifying NEET is a mandatory requirement for an Indian student who is keen to take up medicine as a subject for graduation. A student with a qualifying score in NEET can apply for MBBS. A student with high scores in NEET is eligible for scholarships in government universities in China. Scholarship can be granted to students with scores of 200 and above in NEET by some universities. As for age, a student must have reached an age of a minimum of 17 years as on 31st December in the year of applying for admission.
Some universities may conduct a preliminary round of interview as a part of the selection process. In short, the eligibility criteria for MBBS in China are 17 years of age, 50% in 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, one must have also studied English as a subject in 12th and must have passed the same, also must qualify NEET. A NEET score is valid for 3 years for the students applying for MBBS abroad.
