Pending competitive examinations like NEET & JEE likely to be postponed said sources Ministry of Human Resources Department. Important update as received by NDTV report says that the examinations may be postponed due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country.
Considering the safety of the students on priority, the Education Ministry has given signs to cancel the pending board examinations and postpone the competitive examination to new dates. The matter will be heard by the Supreme Court tomorrow after the center’s reply on a petition filed by some parents of students from class 12th. The Education Ministry added to be working on an alternative grading system for board results while exams like NEET & JEE seems to be postponed as canceling them is not feasible. Some state ministries have also shown their reluctance to conduct the exams and the government has also urged to conduct the exams only in the green zones.
Several Boards had to postpone their exams due to the spread of pandemics and lockdown in the country. And these were rescheduled for the month of July. Likewise, NEET and JEE were also rescheduled for the month of July.
In the past 3 months, India has crossed a figure of 4,00,000 in Covid-19 cases while 2.3 lakh patients have recovered and 13,000 Covid linked deaths have been recorded in the country.
