Almost all academic subjects are offered at Stanford University, which is ranked among the top 10 institutions in the world. In reality, there is a difficult admission process for the MBA programme, therefore tuition costs are high. It costs INR 55.64 lakhs a year just to enrol in the two-year MBA programme at Stanford Graduate School of Business. In situations like these, the Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship is useful. The Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship is available to Indian students who want to lessen their financial load. For each semester over the course of two years, the candidate chosen for the Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship Programme will receive financial support covering around 80% of the cost of tuition and other program-related expenses.

Up to 50 individuals may be chosen by the programme, but only five are chosen to receive the Dhirubhai Fellowship. The programme covers the associated four semesters' tuition for the MBA programme. However, after finishing the course, students are expected to go back to India and work for around two years in an Indian company.

What does the Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship entail?

Indian students with little financial resources can now realise their ambitions of earning an MBA at Stanford University thanks to a scholarship programme financed by Reliance Industries. Each year, three candidates get fellowships that cover at least 80% of their tuition and other costs.

It all began 40 years ago when Mukesh Ambani, who is currently the richest person in India, was forced to leave the Stanford Graduate School of Business and return to India in order to assist his father, Dhirubhai, in the construction of Reliance. The Indian billionaire made sure that at least 3 other Indians realised their aspirations in exchange for what he failed to do. As a result, in 2008, the Reliance Foundation established the Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship.

In order to support the nation's future innovation and growth as the economy continues to grow and go global, strong management talent will need to be developed both within India's top universities and at institutions abroad, according to Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited. "I am honoured to renew this Fellowship Programme to support the next generation of Indian leaders attending Stanford Graduate School of Business, an academic institution with a global reputation for innovation, diversity of student experience, and the highest calibre of faculty and students from around the world," the scholar said.
