For competent people or families wanting to immigrate permanently to Australia in order to address the country's skill shortages, there is the skilled visa for Australia. In the General Skilled Migration programme, permanent visas can be independent, sponsored by a State or Territory, or sponsored by a family. Each of these options is subject to a points test. In order to allow persons in specific fields to apply for a longer working visa in Australia without a sponsor or pre-arranged employment, the Skilled Worker Visa was developed.
Moreover, the Working Holiday Visa's mandatory three months of specified employment, generally known as agricultural labour, will not be needed for you. In Australia, there are several sectors of the economy that require labourers but are currently understaffed, including engineering, healthcare, software development, and construction. You can apply for this visa if you have work experience in one of these industries and want to reside and advance your career in Australia.
Which professions are qualified to apply for permanent residence under the General Skilled Migration programme is determined by the skilled occupation list.

WHO IS SKILLED WORKER VISA FOR?

Anybody who intends to migrate to Australia and has a career in one of the professions included in the skilled worker shortlist but is not sponsored by an employer, the Australian government, or a relative who lives in Australia is eligible for the skilled worker visa. If you have expertise in one of the professions on the Australian government's list of in-demand jobs, you are qualified to apply for a skilled worker visa. Construction jobs, healthcare jobs, and teaching positions are all included in the list of eligible professions.
For skilled immigrants, Australia is a very well-liked location. Anyone intending to apply for a skilled migration visa in order to live and work in Australia may do so through the SkillSelect programme. With the help of their credentials, professional experience, and language proficiency, skilled worker candidates can fulfil the requirements for Australian immigration through the Skillselect programme and get a permanent Australia visa. Employers and potential workers are matched through a system that functions like an online job board.
All other Australian skilled worker visas were phased out in 2012–2013 in favour of the General Skilled Migration (Skillselect) programme. To be taken into consideration, applicants must receive at least 65 points from the General Skilled Migration (Skillselect) scoring tables.

SKILLED VISA REQUIREMENTS:

  • NOMINATED OCCUPATION: Candidates must nominate a skilled occupation that is on Australia's Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL), the Regional Occupation List (ROL), or the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) ROL List in order to be eligible to apply under the General Skilled Migration programme. Also, the candidate must have their abilities evaluated by the appropriate evaluating authority for their line of work.
  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: An exam administered by the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is needed for the majority of Skillselect applicants. There is no requirement to take an English language proficiency exam for candidates from native English-speaking nations or those who have received a tertiary degree (equivalent to an Australian Bachelor's degree or higher level) from a university where English is the primary language. Nonetheless, all applicants must take the IELTS exam in order to qualify for points for Superior or Proficient English language proficiency.
  • AGE: The age range in which a candidate falls at the time of application determines how many points the candidate receives, with applicants between the ages of 25 and 32 receiving the highest. Those who are over 45 do not benefit at all.
  • SKILLED EMPLOYMENT: Points are given to applicants who have worked in a skilled vocation, whether in Australia or another nation. To get points for skilled employment, experience must be in a nominated occupation on one of Australia's lists specified above or in a closely similar occupation, and it must have been acquired within the past ten years. Points are awarded separately for skilled employment experience gained within Australia and elsewhere. The maximum number of points that may be awarded for skilled employment is 20, however points from both tables may be combined.
  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Only the applicant's highest qualification receives points. For instance, if a candidate is applying with both a PhD and a bachelor's degree, only the doctorate will receive points. Any qualifications must be relevant to the applicant's specified occupation and must be accepted as being on par with Australian qualifications in order to be given points; this will often be confirmed during the skills evaluation for the applicant's nominated occupation.

SKILLED VISA PROCESS:

Every person who wants to apply for this visa MUST first receive an INVITED HOLD UP from the Department of Immigration. In order to qualify for a greeting, you must submit a "Declaration of Interest" (EOI), which outlines how you satisfy the requirements for this visa.

  • The first thing you will do is do a thorough assessment of your eligibility for this visa. In order to determine if you are likely to satisfy the necessary requirements, it also involves evaluating your skills, work knowledge, English proficiency, and other factors.
  • If your preliminary review reveals that you are eligible for a favourable aptitudes evaluation and EOI, we will set up your application for an abilities evaluation. The Department of Immigration has identified an evaluating authority for each skilled employment included on the MLTSSL who is authorised to conduct ability evaluations for that occupation. The Department of Immigration will only recognise an EOI on the basis of an abilities evaluation conducted by the key surveying authority.
  • You must prepare and file your EOI when the abilities surveying authority has given you a favourable aptitudes evaluation. Even though you are not required to supply supporting documents at this time, you MUST have the choice to do so if you want to demonstrate that the information in the EOI is accurate at the time you are eligible to apply for a visa.
  • After the Department of Immigration has given you permission to apply for this visa, prepare and submit your visa application within the allotted time frame, together with all the reports that support the information you provided in your EOI. It includes a review of your skills, the results of your English language proficiency exam, your qualifications, job references, and all other pertinent documentation. If your visa application is approved, you will be given a permanent visa. You could be in Australia or somewhere else when your visa is valid.

SKILLED VISA COST :

A single-person application costs $4,045 AUD at base rate. There is a fee of $2,020 AUD for each additional applicant who is above the age of 18 and $1,015 AUD for those who are under 18 if you are applying for a visa together. You must, of course, take into account any additional costs associated with gathering your application's supporting papers or obtaining a skills evaluation from an Australian government agency.
However there are certain factors that might affect your cost of the visa, you can find them below:

  • A skills and experience assessment usually carried out by a government body.
  • The police check for your character requirement.
  • Medical record check
  • Proof of English language ability (if English is your second language)
  • Your profession
  •

SKILLED VISA DURATION :

You can live, work, and study in Australia permanently if you have this permanent visa. The New Zealand stream and the main category 189 stream have a number of essential similarities, such as the ability to enrol in Medicare, sponsor family members for immigration to Australia, travel to and from Australia for five years, and, if qualified, to become an Australian citizen. Once more, cash and benefits from the government could not be accessible right away. This visa is valid for the duration of your residence in Australia. It begins the day you come if you reside outside of the nation.

SKILLED VISA POINT SYSTEM:

You receive a score using the points system, which will indicate whether or not you are eligible. You must receive a score of more than 60 in order to be eligible for a skilled worker visa. It considers a variety of factors, including your age, language proficiency, credentials, and career experience.
All of the following items have ratings.

  • Age: You must be under 50 to be eligible.
  • English language proficiency: If English isn't your first language, you'll need an IELTS score of at least 6 in each of the four skill areas (speaking, reading, listening, and writing).
  • Employment history in your field of expertise: This factor determines your score. Your rating increases as your level of experience increases. You will earn 10 points for 5-8 years, and 15 points for 5-8-15 years.
  • Professional credentials - These include your bachelor's degree or any other credentials related to your talents.
  • Australian Studies - Be sure to include this on your application if you have studied there, as you will receive bonus points!
  • Partner skills - If you are applying with a partner and their occupation is on the list of in-demand talents, their skills and experience will be considered while evaluating your application.
  •
