The College history is as old as the history of the Indian Territory. The College exclusive for women was established in 1914 to celebrate the visit of Queen Mary in the year 1911 – 1912. The college started with the efforts of the first Dean, Dr Kate Platt who wish to see the bright future of girls in the stream of medical science.
The Lady Hardinge Medical College got its affiliation from the University of Delhi. The Medical Council of India officially recognizes the Medical College. It is a government medical college with government aid funding.
The medical courses in the college are in different fields like MBBS, MD and other diploma courses. Duration of MBBS is 5.6 years including one year of internship with a total intake of 200 intakes. The 3-year courses are also available like Masters of Chirurgeon and Doctorate of Medicine in Neonatology. Other two year courses are Doctorate of Medicine, Master of Science, Master of Surgery and diploma courses.
MBBS full year fee is 1355 rupees only. The student also needs to pay 1355 rupees at the time of admission. For postgraduate course fee for the first year is 56100 rupees, for the second year it is 57800 rupees and last year fee is 59500 rupees.
Hostel Accommodation fee is 490 rupees per month including mess charges.
